Magus...I HAD to have the platinum

Its hard to know where to begin...

Ok, here we go, I sometimes like to go on Amazon and type in a game I like and see what Amazon suggests for me. This has led me to some really great games. Like the time I was pre-ordering Persona 2 Innocent Sin and it suggested Hakuoki and I bought it and I fell in love with all things Shinsengumi related.
So one day, I was perusing Amazon, as one does and I see a plain black placeholder image with the word Magus across it up for pre-order. I click cause dammit hello MAGE is right in the name. The description was pretty non existant and while I thought about pre-ordering I just wasn't feeling it, but I added it to the wishlist. Eventually the game was released to horrid reviews and I went "well glad I didn't buy that" but..you see, I'm a girl who loves Sharknado and Dino Croc. I loved the Game Realms of Ancient War and I LIVE for Dynasty Warriors. I like bad things is what I'm saying, or at least things that are perceived as bad by a large majority of people. Being I like bad, I knew I wanted to play this game but, not for that damn price. I like bad things but I ain't stupid.

Flash forward to the latest PSN sale...Lo and behold! MAGUS!! for TWO DOLLARS!!! TWO F-IN DOLLARS! and me with 50 cents in the bank! FML
But, my very kind friend Chris (Hi Chris!) who spoils me WAY too much was sweet enough to get me a PSN card so that I could buy this masterpiece of crap!
I rushed to the PS Store to buy it and...the PSN store randomly booted me out. Maybe it was trying to save me. I log back in and I buy it and set it to download. While it downloaded I decided to browse the store some more...still on the fence about a couple games (is $4 really worth it? hmm) and suddenly...the psn store kicked me out again and my download errored out. WTF? its like the cosmos is intervening. Well, screw you cosmos, I WILL download Magus.
Second try worked and I downloaded the anemic 870mb game. When I try to play it it tells me it needs an update. I click on it and...my ps3 shut down and restarted... I try again, same thing. Now its fucking war! Third times a charm and finally I can begin this glorious masterpiece of bad decisions.

Why this long ass story before getting into the game? Because I want you to feel where I'm coming from, ya feel?

This game is....ugly...
I'm not one for graphics, really I'm not, but at the same time...when you play a PS3 game you have certain...expectations...like, you don't expect a game to look like early to mid PS2. I don't even wanna talk about the hilarious horror that was the title character's teeth and eyes in the opening...um...cinematic? cutscene? thing I couldn't control right before I could control it...I don't know what to call that.

You play as Magus, generic, hideous, white bald guy, who is a god, but doesn't know it or something and is in prison. Some chick breaks you out and off we go to do...stuff.
Look at this glorious bastard! Yes, this is a PS3 game...shocking, I know.

The game says its an action RPG but really its a really lame 3rd person shooter. You get no weapons. But you do have 3 colors of magic. Red, Blue and Green. Red is useless..seriously...I never used red. I went most of the game with the Green started magic and occasionally the blue just for a little color variety. You power up your magic by absorbing it from glowy colored rocks lying around and then...you just...hold down R1 and don't stop til the credits roll. No joke, thats it. You press R1 and Magus throws glowy orbs non-stop. I mean, sure there are skill trees but...you don't really need any of the skills. Ok, I lie, there's one skill that I did use. You throw out a bunch of green flame. Its a decent AOE for the completely SHIT, HORRID, OMFG I HATE THIS level where you're on a beach and a bunch of lizard men keep dropping out of the sky non-stop. Fuck that level.

The game is SUPER short. Its got the generic tutorial "get out of jail" that seems to be pretty fucking standard in RPGS. Then you get a Tower and there you find a world map with 4...yes..FOUR locations to choose from, you can do them in any order and they are pretty damn generic and straightforward as well. There's SHIT BEACH as I mentioned. DARK DANK CORRIDOR MINE, HEY LOOK BROWN aka DESOLATE DESERT FULL OF PRO WRESTLERS? and OH WOW AN ICE LEVEL WHAT A SURPRISE. Once you shoot your way through all of those a whole new world opens up...No, I'm lying, one more location opens up... FINAL TWIST CASTLE!  The castle has probably the hardest boss in the game and I use the term "hard" very very loosely. Like all other battles, I got through it by....running around in circles holding down the R1 button.
But...in case the game wasn't quite dumbed down enough yet...that chick that got you out of jail, she tags along for the entire game, and she doesn't die...ever...also, she seems to have some sort of enemy attracting perfume on. I spent most of the game standing around holding down R1 and killing everything while they all just clustered around her and ignored me.

The face of a GOD!
herp derp
Story... oh..story...As mentioned..my ugly bald dude is a god...with amnesia or something...and I'm in jail for...reasons...and this chick gets me out...because she felt she had to, though she doesn't know me..she just...kinda had a feeling. Like when I'm kinda hungry, vaguely, but don't know what to eat and I go to the fridge and stare for a while and eventually eat like a piece of cheese. Seriously, she tells you that she goes around prisons looking for "someone" cause she has a "feeling" and she hasn't found them yet but she doesn't know who it is but she's pretty sure its you. I swear...this is the actual story. Then we set off to...um...I don't really know. To find out who sent her to look for someone? to stop the king of the land from being a dick? to proclaim my godhood to all I see? Yes? Its all pretty vague and pointless.
The main character is silent with dialogue choices you choose from but everyone else is voiced...and its surprisingly good voice acting. Like, the dialogue itself is utter cheeseball crap but the actual voice acting is solid. Honestly, its kinda wasted on such terrible writing. I was torn between wanting to skip the cheese and wanting to listen to the voice actors. Now,
While Magus might not speak, that doesn't mean he doesn't have a personality...He's got 2 distinct personality choices...Asshole and bigger asshole. Not gonna lie...I did kinda enjoy that.I told some guy I was gonna beat him with his own spine, that was amusing. Honestly it doesn't matter what choices you make in conversation, the story doesn't change one whit...well except for one part. IF you neglect to talk to one dude after kicking his ass then you will miss a branch of a skill tree. While this is not important AT ALL to gameplay, it is important if you want to get the platinum. So, you know, be as big an asshole as you wanna be, it doesn't matter.

So...aside from being a dick to everyone for the lulz, why did I play this? I don't know! that's just it. It's dumb and ugly and easy and brainless and I fucking played this motherfucker til 4am because I suddenly felt compelled to get the platinum for it. (btw..HOORAY FOR PLATINUM NUMBER TWO! Yes, 2, don't judge!) Most of the trophies can be acquired just by going through the game. There's honestly only 3 you'll need to work for.

Maxing out all 3 skill trees, because you can only max out 2 in a playthrough. So I just saved and reloaded and maxed out the third. And as mentioned above, there's that one missable section.

Collection 100 health potions. (here's a tip...start the game over and break every breakable item in the tutorial dungeon.

Collect 500 items...omg...what a damn slog that was... seriously. All you can do is kill lots and lots of things and pick up the crap they drop until the trophy pops up.

Speaking of items...a collection of the most hideous armor EVER! I can't..I can't even describe it...So...I'll just show you:
spent most of the game in this stylish number
My end game threads
sexy, no?
Whatever you don't use you can give to a unicorn that turns it into scrolls that you can use to pad your stats...don't ask...just go with it...You can also add stat boosting jewels to your outfits and equip up to 4 stat boosting runes...honestly this shit is just there to be there because you truly don't need to boost anything to play through this.

This game is like...a horrible wreck...You just cannot look away. Its bad, its really bad, you know you shouldn't. You know you're a bad person if you do...but you just cannot help yourself. Afterwards you feel dirty and ashamed but at the same time secretly pleased with yourself. The only positives are..the voice work isn't terrible and hey, its a really easy platinum.

I will admit that in a way...I guess the game accomplished what it set out to do...well, if it set out to make you an invincible, all powerful asshole. So..Congrats game maker?

Flash sale ends in a few hours so... for 2 bucks....yeah..get it...just so you can own one of the sh ittiest games ever...after big rigs.

What I've been playing

Wow, its been ages since I've written anything here. I didn't forget this place I just  couldn't think of anything to write.
I've been going through another "internet burnout" period. Took a time out for a while from my facebook page as well and just recently started posting regularly again.

What have I been doing all this time?
Nacho...pure sexy!

Well, life stuff of course. Family, dogs, gaming. My usual stuff.
We got a third dog and his name is Nacho and he's the sexiest Chihuahua ever! He gets along well with Tater, our scruffy mutt but for some reason he just isn't feeling the love with Meatball (probably because Meatball was the original sexy beast and Nacho is stealing his title). So I spend my time breaking up doggie drama and having a dogtourage follow me around the house. Hard not to feel gangsta with a dogtourage behind me.

I've actually been gaming a lot more lately than I used to, mostly on my Vita.
Just so you know, Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate is like crack. CRACK I TELL YOU! but I'm getting ahead of myself.

Lets see, what have I played lately?

I started playing Hakuoki on PS3 but I ended up getting the worst cold/flu in history and set it aside only to get sidetracked with other stuff. I'll get around to it eventually. I was actually really enjoying the additional stories they added to it since I've already played the basic story 3 times over 3 other games. I think I'm a little Hakuoki'd out for the time being. Though I still love it to bits.

After I set that aside I finally got around to finishing Tales of The Abyss...only took me what? 3 years? Man that was a fabulous game.
I tried to get back into SMT Devil Survivor Overclocked and quickly discovered why I had put it down ages ago. I'm stuck at a really shitty battle, (which is the same reason i stopped playing FFX) some day I SHALL be victorious dammit!

When my Flu hit round 2 I decided to go with Tales of Xillia since I bought Tales of Xillia 2 and kinda feel like I should maybe make an effort to try to get through them both. I think I'm about 2/3rds through Xillia and its really great, except for Milla. I cannot stand the character and I cannot stand the voice acting for her. Everything else is absolutely wonderful.

I probably would have continued playing Xillia to the end if Danganronpa 2 hadn't come out. Burned through that one in a few days. That was an experience. It was just as good as the first one and had just as many annoyances. I know this sounds like a weird thing to say about a game but...I wish it had LESS gameplay.

For those not familiar with Danganronpa its like...Persona 4 and Phoenix Wright had a psychopathic baby...I guess I should explain...

The premise is like this:
You and a bunch of other students are locked in a school with no means of escape. Your captor/headmaster is a sadistic stuffed bear named Monokuma. The only way to get out of this place is to murder someone and get away with it. Which is where the actual gameplay comes in.
You spend your days talking to the other students and giving them gifts in order to get to know them better (like a super simplified version of P4 social links). Eventually someone gets killed and you begin the investigation phase of the game. You question people, look for evidence, the usual type of stuff. Once that's done a class trial begins. You must use the evidence you've gathered to find the guilty party. If the killer is discovered he/she will be punished (executed in a horrible way). the twist is, if the killer is NOT discovered they will go free and the rest of the students will be executed.
This is all well and good but the actual trial mechanics can be a bit of a chore and they bring down the awesomeness of the game/story a bit.

The sequel is much the same except that instead of a school its a group of people on a handful of  deserted islands.

Once I got over the mind-fuck that was Danganronpa 2 I dove straight into Dynasty Warriors 8 Extreme Legends because anyone who knows me knows I fucking LOVE THE SHIT outta DW, Sima Yi in particular (I have no idea why, don't judge). For the record DW 8 is definitely worth the price of admission, I'm actually planning on picking up a ps3 copy eventually because Lu Bu deserves a large screen dammit!
I was in the middle of K.O.ing many many identical dudes when I got Conception  2 in the mail...I seriously need to write a whole 'nother entry just for Conception 2...its just too much to go into now..too much weirdness I mean.

Sadly once you get past the "shock value" of "Classmating" and weirdness the game gets pretty tedious and repetitious and I set it aside in order to finish the last 2 DLCs for Muramasa Rebirth. I managed to complete those the same day Warriors Orochi 3 came out and ever since then its been my crack. I think its been like a month or so since it came out and I've been playing it pretty much every day. Still haven't even touched the mountain of DLC I bought for it.

I also recently started playing Hatoful Boyfriend. If you haven't heard of that one either, I don't blame you, its pretty niche.
Its a VN about a girl who is the only human going to an all bird school. So all the boys you make friends with/romance/whatever are actually pigeons. I know, I know, it sounds beyond bizarre. But honestly, once you get past the whole pigeon thing and the horrible bird puns, its pretty good. So far i've gotten 4 out of 14 endings and i'm looking forward to hopefully answering many of the questions I currently have.

I think thats about it...
Oh wait no.. Last night I started Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA f and realized I have zero hand/eye coordination.

Coming up soon....
I'm thinking of picking up Akiba's Trip tonight though I'm not sure when I'll get around to that and I've pre-ordered  Tales of Hearts R and Persona Q which are both coming out next month.

I did pick up Persona 4 Arena Ultimax recently but I haven't played it yet. I still haven't finished the first one though I did make some progress on it a couple weeks ago. As much as I like Persona Arena I really think it should be called something other than a fighting game. Its more like 20 minutes of text/dialogue punctuated by the occasional 20 second fight. I'm not complaining, its a lot of fun and its interesting but, its not really a fighting game.

Speaking of fighting games, I suck at them and I can't say I like any of them besides Soul Calibur but a while back I bought Injustice: Gods Among Us while it was on sale for Vita and its fantastic. Surprisingly good story and really fun. Even for a spaz like me.

What have we learned today?
That's right, I buy and play too many games and I really suck at them and that's why I never finish any of them.

If I can unglue myself from WO3 long enough and slow my brain down enough to get actual coherent thoughts going I'll probably write a bit about Conception 2 soon, I just didn't want to make this post much longer than it already is...plus its lunch time and i'm hungry!

Just felt like showing some of my collection.

First my most recent addition:

Catherine Love is Over edition.

my not so impressive 32in. With my slim PS2 AND elite Xbox360 with my DeathSmiles face plate I got recently
MY Xbox360 games with a few PS1 games thrown in and half of my PS2 games
The Rest of my PS2 games

My 46in with my second PS2, Second Xbox360, PS3 and Wii. On the sides are my Gamecube, Wii and PS3 games among other things

After that we enter retro land!

My SDTV with a Colecovision, Atari 2600, Sega Master System, NES & Sega Saturn.behind a lot of junk there is my Gamecbue, N64, PS1 and various Plug and Play games. To the right are my old school game cartridges and some pc games.

And finally, some bad, blurry pics of my action figure collection. I really need better pics....and more space lol.

My pride and joy is my Marcus Statue
the room I keep my Pc, action figures and old school consoles in  doubles as my art studio so its a total disaster in there.
And finally my  pretty glowy blue PC. its not GREAT but it gets the job done . I love it.

Of course this doesn't include all my Steam, Gog, DS, PSP, GB, GBA and emulated games. Or our GB, 2GBA, and 5NDS Lites. Listing all that would take forever! We also have an assortment of plug and play games as well and kiddie consoles like the Vsmile and Vflash.
Obviously gaming is an integral part of my life and my family's life.

So this is just a general idea of my gaming junk :P
if I won the Lotto, I'd probably pay off all my bills and then go on a game spree. lol

Ain't I lucky?

So I had ordered the Assassin's Creed: Revelations ultimate bundle which came out to $111 and some change.
I did surveys like a mad woman to get a $25 gift card which I used to knock the price down a tad.
Today when my package arrived and I opened it...Surprise! I somehow ended up with 2 copies of the game. Awesomesauce!
This weekend I'll have to get hubby to hang my flying machine above my desk. Cool beans.

Finally!
UPS finally delivered my CE. Yay. It's so cool, now to find a spot for it.
Now I feel like I MUST get through the first 2 games so I can play this one.

"Michael" - PS3 Long Live Play -- Full Length - YouTube

Sure, I admitit, I'm solidly in the Xbox360 Fan club, but I appreciate awesomeness in all its forms and this is awesome...
So who did you spot in the video?

What's Fun Got To Do With It?

I'm still sifting through all the E3 info...Games, commentary, critiques, controls, etc.etc.etc.
But as I read about Kinect and Move and the complaints and shortcomings about them, not to mention the Wii comparisons, I'm left with one question...
    What happened to fun?
Its a question I've been asking for a long time actually. I'm not going to run down my history of gaming (yet again) but I just want to throw out there the fact that I joined Gamespot in 2005 a couple of years after I started gaming regularly. Before 2005 I would see a game at Walmart and if it looked like it would appeal to me, I bought it. No reviews, no critiques, no trailers or screenshots. If it sucked, well I was out some cash. I was one of  those "casual gamers", one of the ignorant unwashed masses who had no idea E3 even existed. But, you know what I DID know? Fun. I would play a game and continue playing it if it were fun, if it wasn't, then I stopped playing.

Now, here I am, years later, stuck in a routine that is starting to really bother me. I get up, I brush my teeth, get a cup of coffee and sit at my PC. Once there I start running down the list.
What list? The list of things I must check...

numerous boards, blogs and nefarious sites

Tab after Tab after Tab open in my browser. After all, gotta keep up with whats going on in gaming. So, as I waste time reading about games my list of games to play keeps growing.  Seems  I read more about games than I play them and that is just not right. Now, that's my own fault isn't it? shut down the PC and turn on the console! Yes, its partly my fault but...once I fell into the "being in the know" trap, I can't seem to get out. Not to mention that I, like everyone else, am feeling the financial crunch which means I want to be sure before I drop that cash.  How can I be sure? Reviews of course. I read tons of game reviews no tons of sites. Not just Pro reviews but gamer reviews as well. Now, I'm informed...to be cheesy... "Now I'm playing with Power"

Lately I've found myself spending more time skimming release date lists more than actual game info. Why? Because I've finally found my individuality again. My ability to think for myself. WTF does that mean? Philosophy 101 or Psychology 101? It means, I've put the reviews down.  Reading reviews and previews can be informative, I'm not saying that they aren't helpful. However, more and more I see them concentrating on graphics, innovation, technology and the technical.

Here, I'm gonna throw out a prime example of this...
    Dynasty Warriors

I got into Dynasty Warriors around the time 6 came out. I had never even heard of it before. After my husband and I had finished Champions of Norrath for about the 16th time we decided we needed a new co-op game to play. So we went to Gamestop in search of the elusive 2 player game. Only thing we found that even mildly appealed to us was Dynasty Warriors 6. We had no idea what it was, only that it had to do with Chinese History and fighting. I have no idea how many hours we spent playing the game day after day, night after night. My husband was fascinated by Zhuge Liang's attitude and character and decided he would champion Shu. I was a bit less decided. I Championed Wu as Zhou Yu and Wei as Sima Yi and on occasion I would tag team with him as Zhuge Liang's wife Yue Ying. The game inspired us to read the Three Kingdoms  which gained me some brownie points with my Chinese Mother in law (hehe).
Long after my husband got tired of playing Dynasty Warriors I kept going. I bought 4, 5, 5XL and moved over to Japan as well with Samurai Warriors. When I bought a PSP one of my first purchases were Dynasty Warriors 1 and 2 for it. Since then I've played Samurai Warriors State of War, Warriors Orochi 1 and 2 and Dynasty warriors Strikeforce. I've loved each and every one of those games and even now they are my go-to games when I want some mindless fun.

I was shocked the first time I read a review for a DW game. They are all scored just slightly higher than mediocre. The main complaint is repetition. not enough change between each iteration. No Innovation in the formula. Yes, I will admit that DW games are all pretty much the same thing, but, why is that necessarily a bad thing. I don't play DW for a life altering experience. I play it because I find the idea of being a pretty boy with a pair of Tonfas kicking Yellow Turban ass in the hundreds, fun. Because I like saying the name Sima Yi. I really have no interest in seeing an overhaul of the DW series...But...with the release of DW Strikeforce there WAS a tangible change in the series. There were huge bosses, a town hub to upgrade in order to buy power ups and weapons, to store goods, to gain powers. The game emphasized multi-player like none of its predecessors. The characters were given back their Pre DW6 weapons and the ability to also use any other weapon they chose. So there you go..Innovation! Change! It still got a crappy score. While the changes were acknowledged, they weren't enough. So, what would it take to make these games acceptable to reviewers?
 Shouldn't FUN be enough?

The Wii... oh...nothing gets slammed like the Wii does.
I'm not gonna lie...I rarely play the Wii.
My Wii is probably covered in dust right now.
The last game I bought for it, I've never even opened.
The games that I like on it, I rarely ever play.
The reason however, might surprise you....
Location.

It has nothing to do with its graphical shortcomings or its gimmicky controls or kid-centric games. Simply put, its in a room that I don't associate with gameplay, my studio.
Granted I spend hours in this room every day watching TV and surfing the net. I have all of my "old school" consoles in this room and they are all plugged into the TV. From my very first console, the Colecovision to my dust covered Wii. The thing that makes this room a great art studio is also the thing that makes it a nightmare to game in... Two walls are made of windows giving great Northern and Eastern light. They give excellent light for painting, they also give insanely annoying glare to the TV and make the room at least 10 degrees hotter than than the rest of the house.  Intense sunlight and heat...not exactly conducive to gaming with something that requires lots of movement.

The Wii gave us innovation..a whole lotta innovation...and fun. Lets be honest, sure you look like an idiot playing some Wii games but its damn fun and you can also take comfort in the fact that who ever goes after you will look like a fool too..laughs for all! Right now, I'm planning on dropping $80 on We Cheer 1 and 2 and pom pom attachments so my uncoordinated daughter and I can act like morons together...at night of course...very late at night...with the AC turned down to 60 and every movable fan in the house on in this room.

Critics don't like the Wii..causes its gimmicky and graphically inferior to its console brethren. So, Nintendo tried to Innovate and it was considered gimmicky. What innovation ISN'T Gimmicky?
Let me ask you this... is it FUN?
While playing Soul Calibur Legends left me with a sore arm for a few days it was damn fun.
Wii Sports...is fun...I hate Bowling and Golfing but I can play Wii Sports for hours. House of the Dead? More please! Cheesy dialogue and rail shooting...hell yeah!

I'm an extrovert...or in layman's terms a HUGE Attention Whore. So, I'm down for some crazy antics. I like DDR even though I suck at it. I own tons of singing games and 2 eye toy cameras, one for each PS2. So looking foolish playing the Wii is not an issue for me, as long as I'm having fun.

So now Microsoft and Sony have jumped onto that Motion Control train that Nintendo got rolling.  I'm not gonna argue about price points because...how many people bought a friggin iPad? How about a PS3 at $600? So lets forget price.
Unlike the Wii, Sony and Microsoft are neck and neck in graphical ability.  Though you would think by now we  would realize that good graphics do not a good time or game make. Guess gamers like a beautiful  disaster.
So price is out, and graphics are out...what's left?
Fun.
We already know we'll look like idiots playing the damn things...question is...will you have fun playing it? If it is fun, then, does anything else matter?

Gaming....
To play games
I don't know, but where I'm from games, whether its jumping rope, playing hide and seek or using a controller to make a person on screen do something, they're supposed to be fun.
Looking at my game collection, a lot of the games I own were given really bad reviews and/or scores and had I based my decision to buy or play them on that, I would have missed out on a lot of fun and good times.

Maybe being from an older generation of gamers makes the difference. I grew up on Donkey Kong and Pac-Man, not exactly the most photo-realistic games, but even now, I still find them fun.
As much as I can marvel at the gorgeous rolling hills in Oblivion, I can spend hours playing Bejeweled.

Yeah yeah yeah...this post is all over the place....I probably went off on tangents more than I stayed on topic... I'm watching America's Next Top Model reruns while I write so my attention is divided.

Hi, Hello, I suck!

Yes Yes...Still no damn Inferno..I know. Beat me with a wet noodle.

You know me, I like to go on and on and on forever and beat you down with Wikipedia and a dictionary...so though I know I can probably shoot this thing out now, I won't be happy with it cause its not as researched as I would like. Its quite a daunting task I've given myself this time.

But, I'm not here to talk about that today...at least not this minute, what might happen later...well who knows...When your day starts with getting very up close and personal with a school bus you never know what could happen later. But, I digress....

If you haven't noticed over yonder ----------------------------->
I gots me a new addition to my blog and my home...That's right! i FINALLY got me a PS3!!!!! Happy day. My Xbox360 got a lil jealous but I assured it it will alway be my baby and it has begrudgingly agreed to share my TV with its arch nemesis.

So, yeah..I got me a PS3 and a grand total of ONE game. Which game? This will amuse you; Well, maybe not the game itself but the reasoning behind it. Better get comfy...you know how I tend to go on and on. Why say something in a sentence when you can write a novella?

For those with short attention spans: I bought inFamous. You can stop here, the rest is just details.

The story of inFamous (no not the plot, MY plot)

Alrighty then, long long ago there was talk of this game named inFamous and I didn't really care. I saw some screenshots and found myself wondering why is Starkiller wearing a yellow jacket? Everyone was excited, there was much hoopla. This game was a PS3 exclusive so, meh, what did I care? Now the Xbox didn't want to feel left out and it came out with Prototype. This time I felt meh in general, all I thought was That guys arm reminds me of Ian Stone.

Then I watched both of these:

I laughed, a lot, but I was still not interested.
So why did I buy this game?
It was one part price, one part zappy powers and one part...well...this:

Wait
What?

That has NOTHING to do with inFamous does it?
Well, now you see how my odd little mind works. After watching those reviews, reading about both games and watching Unskippable I decided that Cole was more likeable than Alex Mercer.

Yeah, I bought inFamous as my very first PS3 game because it was $29.99, I get to zap people like I'm a Sith while wearing a snazzy yellow jacket (are yellow jackets "in" right now? 'Cause I know that the guy whose name I don't care to remember from Dead Rising 2 is ALSO wearing a snazzy yellow jacket) and Alex Mercer is a dick.

I will say that I don't regret the purchase though. Even though I suck at it and I've dropped Cole into the harbor so many times he should be nothing but ashes by now I find the game pretty cool. I just gotta learn to stop spazzing out and spinning in circles zapping everything. Also, I wish he didn't run and stand all crouched over like he's got stomach cramps...Not only that but with the poor posture and the gravely voice I keep waiting for him to say "I'm the best at what I do"

Meanwhile, instead of finishing that Inferno thing, or that other thing I don't even remember what it was about or why I was gonna write it, I've been playing Lips (WHAT? I like Karaoke) and Dragon Age: Origins.

Alistair is soooo dreamy.
