This is gonna be all over the place
So, I don't have the brain power to write one coherent post about anything so, I'm just gonna blab about whatever for a bit.
Been playing mostly Vita lately, I really love that damn thing.
So lets see, I stepped away from Persona 4 for a bit, though I love t he hell out of that game. I'd seriously be hard pressed to say who my favorite character is, I love em all...except Rise, she fucking irks me with her cutesy slutty ways.
Tried the demo for Sumioni...its quite pretty but, I feel I need more hands. Way too much shit going on. move with the analog stick or d-pad, X to attack, slash the screen to draw ledges, press the little water symbol on the corner to turn the ink into water to then touch the screen and destroy projectiles, press L to switch to the magic screen and then slash the screen to then hit L again so that the ink becomes fire...Fuck that shit, I'm too damn awkward and spazzy to do all that. so, thinking I'm gonna have to pass on it.
Next I started Uncharted Fight for Fortune, if you've never heard of it, well not surprising. Its a card game. I ain't got no game! I seriously have ZERO strategy at shit like this yet I found myself really enjoying it and playing for a while. Probably play a little more today.
Because PS+ put SC Broken Destiny up free I decided, hey what the hell and downloaded it. Man I had forgotten what utter shit that game is. No actual story mode, just challenges which I suck at because I button mash or quick matches. Not to mention how absolutely hideous the game is. Even the original SC on XBL looks better. Its just one blurry pixelated mess. I actually thought maybe my screen was dirty at first, but no, the game is just fugly. Oh well, I could use the space, my memory card is almost full so, time to hit delete on that.
Also tried playing some AC Liberation. Its a pretty game and the action is good enough but...so far I can't discern any story whatsoever. I also have a big problem with the whole costume change mechanic. On one hand, its pretty cool, different outfits to get you into different places. On the other hand its an utter pain in the ass and feels likes its only there to pad out the game. Do something as the lady and my notoriety goes up, but unlike say AC 2 where I pay heralds and rip down posters to lower it I have to instead run around town shanking witnesses, but not as the lady cause there are ALWAYS witnesses around so I have to do it as the slave, then the slave notoriety goes up, so then I have to run around ripping down posters to lower that. Too much time running around lowering notoriety, not enough time actually forwarding the story, well if I could find a story. Also, I cannot stand the French and Spanish accents. I LOVE playing AC2 cause I love the Italian accents going on but...this game...a "Spanish" Captain was talking to a French Governor and I wanted to stab a pencil in my ears. Thickest Spanish accent I can think of is Antonio Banderas and his accent isn't a third as painful. I mean seriously we do NOT roll our damn Rs THAT hard.
what else...Oh yeah, I got Soul Hackers for DS, haven't played very much of it yet but so far I dig it. While aside from 3D its pretty much a direct port of the game it still looks pretty decent and I'm already interested in knowing wtf is going on with the story so yay. Hopefully I'll get to put a bit more time into that soon. Still haven't gotten back to Mirror of Fate either.
Played some Dynasty Warriors Next as well. I really love all that wholesome DW hack n slash. Just slaughtering a shitload of dudes with a damn fan or whatever. What I DO NOT like is the Duel mechanic on the Vita. So, every so often you run into an important officer and you have to engage in a rubbing match.
you slash the screen this way and that trying to land a hit or break their guard, you hold down a finger on the screen to block and when you beat them down enough you rub the screen furiously back and forth til you fill up the gauge and then lay the smackdown on their candy ass and...it seems there is no rhyme or reason as to what your character will do. Some times I just slash away til their dead, sometimes I can't catch a break and they just smack me 3 times in a row and I'm dead. There's no way to skip the duels or control them any other way beyond furious slashing on the touchscreen. It ruins a perfectly good game. To make matters worse if you play the campaign every so often you'll get a random ass duel challenge from another player and you can't opt out of that shit you have to do it. Really kills my buzz when I'm just trying to get my damn conquest on.
On that note I tried Warriors Orochi 3 finally this weekend, I had forgotten I had bought it a month or so ago. I didn't play much because I was getting bombarded with texts and shit from people (yeah the one day I decide to play a game I become popular. most of the time people don't even know I exist.) I have to say I did not like the bit I played and I love the shit out of the series. I've played 1 &2 both on Xbox and PSP. The whole 3 character switching hacky slashy goodness was there but the very first map I had to fight a Hydra...WHAT? Yeah well I got my ass beat down. Then they added that whole camp/hub thing from Strikeforce. You know the place to go to talk to your officers and to upgrade your weapon and such. I don't know, I'm just not feeling it. I quit right after I got to camp, but I'm sure i'll try again at some point.
I tried to play Assassin's Creed 2 some more but I didn't make much progress, its just too much fun running around finding treasures and doing assassination side missions to bother with the main story yet. I skip the races and shit though cause I fucking suck at them.
After finishing Bioshock I went on over to Gears Judgment just to try and knock that outta the way but...I hate that game so damn much. I just can't get over my dislike of...well everything about it. I don't know, I don't think I'm gonna be able to finish it.
I've also been attempting to get in a bit better shape by playing Dance Central 3. Ok, make fun of Kinect and DC all you want but that shit is FUN. Seriously fun. Its also exhausting, I'm half dead by the time i finish my playlist and damn if I'm not sure as hell the next day. Guess its working.
I'm sure there's a ton of other shit I was gonna say but I'm tired and old and I forget things. If it comes to me I'll post it later.

Bioshock Infinite- Part 2
So yesterday was an amazing day..I actually finished a game! Pity it was Bioshock Infinite.
All people care about is "is the game good?" "would you recommend it?"
Ok, yes. I would say yes to both. HOWEVER, I can think of 10 other games I'd rather play than this one.
My dislike of Fitzroy, Comstock and Booker never changed. If anything I despised them all even more, particularly Booker. I wish I could explain why but then I would spoil the shit outta the game for you.
The ending had a great twist but somehow just didn't impact me as much as the original Bioshock's "Would you kindly".
There really isn't anyone or anything in this world to like or cling to.
Yeah the fighting is fun enough ,the scenery is pretty enough, the story is decent enough but that;s just it. Its just enough, sometimes barely that especially when you get behind the reasons WHY characters chose the actions they did.
I'd put the twist in this game on a par with the last episode of The Walking Dead game (the Telltale one, not that other...thing), feels like they wrote themselves into a corner and just threw in the out last second. It doesn't ring true when you start to really think about it. Too many holes, too many leaps...Instead of making me question human nature and the acts that shape and change us it left me thinking, "do you people understand ANYTHING about human beings?"
Now, you could argue I'm nitpicking fictional leaps in thought in a setting that has magical powers and George Washington robots shoot the fuck out of you. But the thing with fiction is, its always based on reality no matter how many turns it takes. And while you can be given a bit of leeway if you were following the thoughts of say....a dragon, you play as a human being, therefore, regardless of settings, his actions should make sense and they really really don't.
Now you'll say that I'm missing the whole time travel, multiverse shit. but that's just it, its shit. Really shiny tinsel covered shit to make you forget that the story is a bible thumping jaunt through horrible people doing horrible things to other horrible people. You can multiverse til the cows come home and you STILL won't make any of these people likeable or less cartoon villainous.
Still, for all that, I did enjoy the actual gameplay, except I wish that bitch would stop chucking shit at my head all the time. My biggest complaint, besides the fucking sky hook crap is that Vigors don't really mean shit. In Bioshock you used the HELL outta plasmids, they were part of the story, they were the CAUSE of the story really. But here, vigors are kinda just...there. To be honest I quickly fell into a very unexciting routine.. Murder of crows, shoot everyone while flailing about. Oh robot? Shock Jockey and fucking SHOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I rarely had any need for anything else and if I did use anything else it was more just because that actual need.
Its an odd game. I dislike it for a million reasons I could rant about all day, yet I liked it and I'm hard pressed to tell you why.
Of course, I'd rather play Bioshock Infinite than keep suffering through Gears of War Judgment. (I know I know, in a court of law judgment is spelled correctly but it STILL bugs the fuck outta me.. I NEED that E!)

Bioshock Infinite
So, I've been playing Bioshock Infinite which everyone assures me is the greatest game on God's green earth.
I haven't finished it, and I'm gonna try to do this spoiler free so if I'm vague in proving my points, I apologize now.
These are MY opinions, your mileage may vary.
My typing sucks ass, sometimes I miss words, sometimes I miss punctuation, I love ellipses too much and I ramble.
Now that I've gotten all that outta the way for the uptight neurotic assholes that like to rag on me, I'll share my thoughts on Bioshock Infinite. (If I missed any disclaimers about content or execution...FUCK YOU)
It started well enough, reminiscent of the original Bioshock with the lighthouse in the middle of the ocean. Of course I went up instead of down and that was good too. Then I got to the world's most egotistical cathedral dedicated to The Prophet and his wife while creepy people praised the Founders. I was Baptized half to death Praise The Prophet! and I've been getting bible Prophet thumped ever since. Seriously, I am so fucking sick of hearing about the prohet, from the prophet, about his wife and his lamb and his crap. I DONT FUCKING GIVE A SHIT ! Just point my gun in the right direction assholes.
The story tries so fucking hard to be edgy and controversial, deep and meaningful and its just a lot of fucking jibber jabber.
You ever read about the Civil War? Imagine the whole slave arguments and shit took place in a floating city. Congrats! Welcome to Columbia.
Not saying that Andrew Ryan didn't spout a latrine full of bullshit in Bioshock 1 but, somehow it didn't sound quite as pompous or boring as Comstock's rhetoric.
You see, in Bioshock, Ryan's philosophies fit. The city reflects his ideals, even the chaos that ensues reflects them. No Gods or Kings only Man. In a world like that, I can imagine Plasmids being created, people abusing them and going batshit. it works.
Please tell me where in an ultra religious world magical powers fit in? Because going just by history we know that people who knew just a little more about herbal remedies than others were systematically burned at the stake. Right there I hit a major disconnect. A world of ultra-conservative, xenophobic bible thumpers regularly swigging down bottles of "Devil's Kiss" in order to throw fire grenades from their hands or drinking some "Possession" to control machines and people around them. Yeah, that makes EPIC SENSE. Hell even today, with all the technology and all the "forward thinking" people in the world, you start shooting lightning from your hands, you're gonna get fucking dissected. If you're lucky they'll put you to sleep with painless meds rather than let the crowds stone you to death.
Then there's the matter of Elizabeth...no no not the whole magic tears in reality shit...I don't care how many fucking books she read, how can the bitch A. Pick locks like she's picking her teeth after dinner, find random money, ammo and salts constantly, has no problem keeping up with me on those goddamn sky hook rails, crouches down in the middle of a fight and magically never gets hit by a bullet or a fist or some fucking hand lightning.
...if you are obsessed with going to Paris...why do you know the coordinates to New York? Just sayin'
The Vox Populi/Daisy Fitzroy are no better than Comstock and I despise them equally, though luckily I hear considerably less propaganda shit from them. Can't go into details, spoilers, but...that was a very unsatisfactory faction/leader.
Booker...oh Booker...I wanna love you, despite the hideousness of your face in that one commercial, you're pretty damn smexy...and Troy Baker...DAT VOICE! However, he's a self centered douchebag and I'm not sure if I wanna punch my enemies or my own character in the head repeatedly.
The city of Columbia is indeed beautiful, the people however are stiff mannequins with zero facial expressions. That's kinda off putting. I find myself using only 1 power 90% of the time and 1 gun.
Oh and that much vaunted sky hook ability thing... FUCK YOU HARD.
I seriously had to pause the game at one point for about 20 minutes while i tried to keep my lunch down. Every damn time I have to use those rails I get severe vertigo. Its confusing, dizzying and nauseating. I HATE it with a passion. As an optional thing, it would have been ok but being forced to go up and down those fucking rails defeating enemies and then trying to find the place you are going and landing there...yeah no. On the flip side, smacking people in the face with the sky hook is pretty fun.
Overall, its a good game. Combat is fun and a little challenging. Booker can say some pretty amusing shit from time to time and i'm invested enough that I plan on going back to it and finishing it soon but, its not the miraculously amazing game everyone makes it out to be. Its trying too hard to recreate the magic of the original Bioshock and it just falls short of the mark.
oh and one more thing....WTF do they have against maps?????

So quick hello here
Um... I finished a game for once... The Walking Dead Episode 1. If you havent' played it.. GO DO THAT NOW!!!! it was really really good. Can't wait til the next one.
Played a bit of Fable Heroes with my son, super cute game if a little chaotic.
I'm still trying to convince myself I like Amalur, and failing miserably. I hate Amalur.
What else?
Oh, I started Dear Esther and its...weird...pretty, but weird.
Torchlight 2 Beta was pretty great, can't wait for that to come out.
Got the Secret World Beta, spent a day installing the damn thing and then never bothered with it...I'm just not an MMO girl. (I was an UTTER disaster at Star Trek Online :P )
Wanna talk about Mass Effect...not the ending, i'm tired of hearing about the endings. Just, about the games in general, just, seems i never have the time or energy to sit down and write anymore. Way too much on my plate right now.
I'll get to it.
Soon
I hope

Minecraft
So, I havent been saying much lately and I apologize, I've had a lot going on IRL.
I'm just popping in to say hello, I'm still breathing and to offer up a code for Minecraft on xbox360. this one I'm actually looking to trade rather than just give away, but don't worry, I'm pretty laid back, so you know, if you have a code or something you want to trade for it, let me know.
also there are still games left from my last post that I AM giving away so, you know, if you want one, let me know.
I'm hoping I'll be back soon to writing. I have lots to talk about
Minecraft is gone now.

The Witcher 2: Dark Edition
So, I bought the PC Edition of this game back when ti was released but, I never got around to playing it. Mostly because I don't like gaming on my PC much for health issues. I do however LOVE the Witcher, Geralt. So of course I had to get the xbox edition because that just upped the chances I'll get to this game...(right after Amalur. Which I just went back to after finally finishing Mass Effect 3)
Anyway, I received my Dark Edition copy of the game today and so, I took some pics of the loot :)
Ok lets get started then.
After getting a hernia bringing the Amazon box in, (wasn't expecting it to be as big or heavy as it was) I cracked that puppy open and found a big shiny black box, after I removed the plastic sleeve I found that the top of the box had yet another plastic sleeve.
I was happy to find a "REAL" full sized artbook rather than the tiny disappointing booklets of art found with games such as Catherine, Deus Ex, Assassin's Creed Revelations and even to some extent Mass Effect 3.
So, that's what I found in my new amazon box. I hope I get to play this in the near future but who knows, I have so many games to play at the moment (at any given moment really).

| After removing the plastic sleeve with all the Xbox stuff on it I was left with this. A plastic cover that looks foggy and scratched up with a wolf image visible underneath |
![]() |
| I discovered the plastic was removeable and that doing so would reveal this awesome sculpture of a wolf. |
![]() |
| I put the plastic cover back on the box and noticed it had a drawer underneath. after carefully pulling it open I found the artbook. |
![]() |
| Underneath the artbook were the game case and a little box with another wolf logo on it. |
![]() |
| looking in the small box I found the Witcher Medallion. Its a nice piece, on a weighty chain. Unlike the ring that came with Uncharted 3 This is not going to be something I will wear. |
![]() |
| Under the game box you'll find another DVD case with the Making of - DVD and under that a small Quest guide. |
![]() |
| To find this map I had to open the game case itself. |
![]() |
| Its a nice colorful double sided map... and since thisis a Witcher game...check out them boobs hehe. I had to slip some sort of sexual innuendo in her somewhere... slipped...nipples...OMG ok, I'm done... |

Hunted: The Demon's Forge
So I finally finished a game, though not one I had even planned on buying let alone finishing. When I go to the Mall I must stop at Gamestop. I rarely buy anything there but I browse cause I can't help myself.
My husband and I are always looking for something to play together so Co-op written on any box makes us take a second look. I'm not sure why I picked up Hunted but I looked at the back and saw co-op and showed it to my husband.
Now, I had heard about Hunted when it was released, but the reviews were fairly meh, so I didn't pay much attention to it. But, it was $11, it was co-op and our favorite employee was working at Gamestop, so we decided to buy it. (Yes, I am more inclined to shop at Gamestop when this one guy is there. Don't know his name but he's awesome and since he used to work at my preferred Gamestop he knows us well. He knows my husband is gonna sit on the floor looking at a game box confused while I point out stuff to my kids and tel them if it sucks or not)
The only thing we had in mind when we took it home was: MONEY BOOBS!!!!! (I know, I know, you're thinking WTF? just..just give me a sec)
A while back Unskippable did the opening of Hunted and boobs that pour money was one of the jokes in it...just..oh just watch this and it will make sense:
With thoughts of money boobs and co-op play we brought it home, turned it on and spent about 15 minutes trying to figure out how to start a co-op game...this does not bode well...
Finally figured out how to start a game (tip: you can't play co-op til after the tutorial and you really should do the tutorial) and chose Normal because well, we're experienced adventurers right? No sooner did we start the game that we touched some weird purple crystal, swapped characters, got utterly confused and died. Reloaded (note to self, don't touch purple stone) and tried again only to die horrifically....like 5 times. So we reloaded and went to Beginner setting (we wanna have fun, ain't too proud to go easy).
This is more like it. Now don't think that because it was on beginner it was a cake walk, we actually found it fairly challenging, but, manageable.
So I chose to play as the girl E'lara, of course, cause I prefer playing as the girl if given a choice, but at the same time, I wasn't sure about her, She's a huntress and I'm really not that good with aiming so, I tend to stay away from bow and arrow types. Turns out, I was worried for nothing. She's quick and aiming is good, plus she can also shoot from the hip fairly accurately.
My husband played as Caddoc, the big bald barbarian looking mercenary with sword and shield.
As I said, its all about co-op for us and this game is co-op in its truest form. I've never played a game where it truly feels like we need each other.
E'lara as I said is a huntress with bow and arrow, she however does have a sword and shield for the occasional melee fighting when we get overrun or run out of arrows (running out of arrows doesn't happen often ,there are usually plenty nearby but sometimes I spazz and go on an arrow shooting frenzy). To add to these she also has unlockable magic both the kind you sling and for her weapon. Standard stuff, exploding arrows, ice arrows, lightning bolts etc.
Caddoc uses a sword and shield and also carries a crossbow. Telling you right now, that crossbow is TRULY for emergencies only. He is incredibly slow with aiming and shooting and reloading takes forever. He also gets unlockable spells for battle and weapons and this is where you start to see that co-op. One of his spells suspends enemies for a short amount of time before slamming them down. Its a great form of crowd control and E'lara can pick off the enemies quickly as he holds them up.
Another interesting aspect of the co-op is being able to infuse your partner with power for a short time. Rather than cast your lightning at an enemy you direct it to your partner and their blows become super-powered for a time.
You can never leave your partner behind or lose them either. The game gives you the ability to conjure a shimmering trail to show you where to go (I think more games should do this) and it also conjures a second shimmering trail to your partner, which is great for us because my husband has no sense of direction and I tend to wander off to examine that little corner of rubble all the time. Here's a bit of dialogue from our gaming sessions:
Him: Where are you?
Me: I'm over here, there's something shiny!
Him: Where? I can't find you? are you upstairs or downstairs?
Me: I'm like right here!! to your left..left...the other left...DUDE RIGHT THERE!!!
Him: I can't find you...
Me: Oh it was just a torch, damn, I thought it was something.
Him: Where?
Me: Oh forget it I'm right behind you!
That little shimmering trail was MADE for us.
You can never leave your partner behind. Every jump, every crevace you shimmy through, every section you go to enter, you are required to both press the button to proceed. Now I know that this sounds like a bad thing ,especially given my little demo above of how we play, but the game thought of that too. if you are too far from each other, you can teleport to your partner's side.
Now, you're probably wondering about the story. First I wanna point out that this game is about action, its about killing enemies and blowing shit up and having fun. That said, The story turned out to be much more interesting than we would have thought. It started off with us being utterly confused. A whole lot of "wtf is going on?" "who?" "I swear this makes no sense." "what does this have to do with anything?" But, if you are diligent in looking for bodies to listen to with the death stone (I'll explain in a moment) and don't skip the cutscenes it will eventually come together and you'll go "hey this is pretty interesting"
The Death Stone...if you watched the video above you've seen some of what it does. Throughout the game you will run into the bodies of the deceased, some of these will prompt you to use the Death Stone. For most of these a disembodied spirit will float above the corpse and speak. It can tell you something that helps you understand the story, help you with a challenge ahead or just tell you something trivial that merely adds flavor to the game. In some instances you'll see a vision, like the first time E'lara touches the stone in the video above. A lot of the story is gained by these visions. While you might not find all the corpses to use the deathstone on , you won't miss the vision ones since they are usually preceded by a cutscene of your characters telling each other they should use the Deathstone.
I know that reviewers mentioned a lot of glitches and bugs and while sometimes while standing by a corpse using a deathstone your character or partner will twitch and spazz, for the most part our playthrough was pretty glitch free. We only encountered one place where my character kept telling Caddoc to push a stone and no matter where he looked he never got a prompt for it. Luckily it wasn't really part of the game, just a chance for more loot.
Oh yes, loot. there are weapon racks throughout the game, just so you know, he who breaks it gets the weapon. If E'lara breaks a rack it will always be a bow or a weak sword on rare occasions and only she can pick it up, and of course if Caddoc breaks it it will always be a melee weapon and only he can pick it up. So, getting loot comes down to being fair to each other and taking turns. But don't worry there are plenty of racks. Shields are found scattered around and either E'lara or Caddoc can pick them up at any time.
Now, I'm sure you're wondering with all this co-op can the game be good played single player. I will say that I'm not too far into my second playthrough, but I am playing it alone. The tutorial does a good job of showing you how to direct your AI co-op partner in specific situations and you can also use the aforementioned purple crystals to switch between controlling Caddoc or E'lara.
Playing alone does have one benefit over co-op, you save a lot of health potions because the AI doesnt go down very often. So far I'm enjoying my playthrough alone and havent encountered any negatives to playing with the AI except for the commentary between me and my husband as we played.
I think this game appeals so much to me because the dialogue is good and the voice acting is excellent. My husband and I would say something and a few seconds later Caddoc would say the same thing and we'd be like "Damn, the game is reading our minds." The game doesn't take itself too seriously. A good example is: after lifting up a few doors together E'lara remarks "I wonder what people do when they come here alone?"
At another moment E'lara comments on "Money Boobs" slutty outfit and Caddoc replies in kind about her outfit.
This game isn't going to change the world, and it probably isnt the best game you will ever play, but its fun and funny, well done and good looking. You can play alone but playing with a friend is best. About the only negative thing I can think to say about this game is the trailer below does it a huge disservice with that HORRIBLE cover of "So Happy Together" watch the trailer on mute....
****just a note. the game does have some sort of multiplayer and you can also take money you collect in game to make your own levels. basically just gauntlets of enemies to get through. I can't comment on this because I usually don't play MP and I didn't touch the Crucible in this game...so you're on your own for that one*****
Lookie the purty games
I had to get a new rack for my games and then move them from their crowded corner.
So here is my little ps1,ps2,xbox, and xbox360 games. With Godzilla guarding them. :)
I've run out of space on my living room shelves for my ps3, gamecube and Wii games as well, time to buy more racks and put them.... I dont know where....

Smiley!
So its been a good couple of days. I mean sure I've got a horrid cold but. Yesterday I got my Uncharted 3 CE.
Today I got the latest issue of Nintendo Power and PC Gamer, a cool new teefury.com shirt (its a Mucha style picture of Sarah from Labyrinth in the white ballgown.) And I got my Deathsmiles LE.
Now to decide which Xbox to put the faceplate on. Guess I know what game I'll be giving a go to later.

This is what I haven't done- Part 1
Over a year ago I wrote 3 posts listing the games I hadn't gotten around to playing or if I had played I hadn't finished them. Many games have come and gone since then, so I thought I'd do an update since I've bought many games since then and even finished a few.
Much like in my previous posts, I'm not including Handheld Consoles, Music games or Fighting games. Handhelds because I own WAY too many games to EVER make a dent in. Music and Fighters because you are never really "done" with them. So these lists will be very incomplete.
Mirrors Edge- Still havent touched it. Not sure why.
Devil May Cry 4- As stated before, I quit before the final boss because I just dislike this game
Call of Duty 4- I think if I went back to this I could get past Chernobyl but I never really get an itch to play it.
Modern Warfare 2- Don't wanna play it til I finish the first one (this sentiment still stands)
Gears of War- COMPLETE
Gears of War 2- COMPLETE
*Gears of War 3- COMPLETE
Stranglehold- meh. Crotch shooting and doves no longer do it for me.
Ninja Gaiden 2- honestly, I forget this game exists
Onechanbara- Hubby played it and thought it was utter crap. I had already heard it was utter crap and its only in my collection because I do not trade or sell my games.
Infinite Undiscovery- I actually DID start this not that long ago. I barely made it past the opening cutscene before deciding the main character is an ass clown and I have no interest in anything that has to do with him.
Last Remnant- Started this recently. I was actually really enjoying it, but then Gears 3 showed up on my doorstep and The Last Remnant was forgotten
Ninety Nine Nights- Its a poor man's Dynasty warriors...and not 1/3 as fun. Played it once and that's all I needed.
Eternal Sonata- Sometimes I look at the box, and think..."meh, some other time" Which in Sihaya speak means "I'm never gonna play this)
Ultimate Alliance 2- Played once and it sucked too much for me to continue.
Left 4 Dead 1 and 2- LFD-COMPLETED. Started L4D2 and I just can't get into it, the Survivors are so dull. I miss Bill
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion- Yeah, with Skyrim about to drop, I will probably NEVER finish this.
Dead Space- Started it and then got my ass handed to me in Chapter 2 at which point I quit. Also, scared me so bad that one of my girls had to keep me company and when her sister opened my bedroom door at one point, We both shrieked like we were being tortured and almost had heart attack
Lost Odyssey- Finally got past the evil blue worm and am now on the second disk...I love Jansen SO MUCH.
Fable 2- still haven't finished the DLC.
*Fable 3- Haven't finshed the DLC...damn game glitched.
Mass Effect 1 and 2- ME1 COMPLETED, still working on ME2
The Darkness- Some day I will finish this damn game, but not anytime soon.
Kameo: Elements of Power-Another game I forget exists
Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom- I dont even remember what this game is about.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed- Got stuck somewhere and never bothered to try again
The Orange Box- I dont get the HL love, I was bored. Also, i'm too stupid to get through Portal
Dead Rising- While it looks fun, It doesnt really call to me.
Prey- Every few months I say to myself "I'm gonna play Prey soon" and then I go back to whatever I was doing.
Dynasty Warriors 6- COMPLETE, except for leveling every one to 50
*Alan Wake- Game looks great but after having read the novel, its kinda reduced the odds of me ever playing the game. Not because its bad mind you but because since I already know the story, I could be playing something I don't know the ending to.
*Assassin's Creed II- I like the game, I even bought Brotherhood and pre-ordered Revelations on the off chance I might ever finish it. I was really enjoying it til I had to start blending into crowds. I suck at stealth and I have no patience.
*Bioshock 2- played 20 minutes of it, got busy and walked away and never made it back to it
*Deus Ex: Human Revolution- 4 words. I. SUCK. AT. STEALTH.
*Dragon Age: Origins/Awakening- Need to complete 2 pieces of DLC for Origin. Awakening- COMPLETE
*Dragon Age 2- Working on it for a while before I got sidetracked by The Last Remnant and then Gears 3
*Dynasty Warriors Strikeforce- Flying Taoist monk/magicians...that's all I'm sayin.
*F.E.A.R. 1, 2 & Fear Files- Started the first one, seemed like a generic shooter with some cheap "horror" theatrics thrown in.
*Fallout 3 & New Vegas- I tend to never finish sandbox games. I get distracted by shiny things.
*L.A. Noire- The novelty wore off and better games took up my time
*Lost Planet 1&2- its gotten lost in the shuffle and I can't bring myself to actually try either.
*Prince of Persia Forgotten Sands- After Warrior Within, I started 2 thrones which was meh and so I havent bothered to try this one.
*Prototype- Just bought this a couple of weeks ago and I gave it a test play, looks pretty good. Hope I get to it eventually
*Red Dead Redemption- Between my crappy horseback skills and the fact that the ending has been spoiled a billion times, I havent gotten around to playing it again.
*Resident Evil 5- Not sure why I keep skipping over this.
*Sacred 2: Fallen Angel- Bought his to play with hubby, but he didnt like it.
*Star Wars Force Unleashed 2- Ok, I admit it, I only bought it because the CE was $20...I played the demo and it blew.
*Chronicles of Riddick- Just one of those games I forget exists until I happen to glance at the spine while looking for some other game
*Vanquish- Demo was cool, but I feel no inclination to play it.
*Wet- I was loving it...til the stupid obstacle course crap. Then I rage quit.
Tomorrow I'll continue with XBLA, XBIG, Xbox games.
So many games....so much money....so little time...
*Games added to the list since last year's Unfinished Games List.
Much like in my previous posts, I'm not including Handheld Consoles, Music games or Fighting games. Handhelds because I own WAY too many games to EVER make a dent in. Music and Fighters because you are never really "done" with them. So these lists will be very incomplete.

Time to rethink my Xbox love
While I own all 3 consoles, I do not love them equally. My eldest child is my pride and joy, my 360 Elite. We've had good times, (like that one time we played Oblivion for like 8hrs straight and the 16hr Ultimate alliance Marathon and most recently my all night Borderlands session in the Circle of Duty)
We've hit a rough patch as well...like the time right before (like a week) before fable 2 came out when everything on screen went Green and red and I had to pay $100 to get it fixed...I was like a zombie for that week and a half waiting for it to come home, holding my sad and lonely copy of Fable 2.
But after that, we kissed and made up and its been my faithful companion....til now.
So, you know, Kinect is coming out and for some reason this means the dashboard needed to be retooled with more realistic avatars or some such crap. I was one of the many to become Beta testers...not for Kinect, oh HELL NO, they must have written in bold print that WE WOULD NOT GET A KINECT DEVICE AND DID WE UNDERSTAND THAT...No, not for Kinect, just for the dashboard...so Yeah. right away, I was totally not liking the slight color changes, then I discovered that none of my purchased avatar stuff worked...not til after the beta (untrue, 1 purchased outfit worked and only one). But these are just minor annoyances.
Today, I decide to get the new Castlevania trailer and play something. As i'm browsing the dashboard, the screen went black...then a little sliver of the dashboard could be seen on the side of the TV. WTF?
I turned the xbox off, waiteda few minutes and turned it on...what do I see? 3 red lights....
I scream and pull my hair and try again...same thing.
I cry and try again....same thing...
I get the idea to remove the hard driveand try...Oh glorious green!
I turn it off, put in the hard drive and try again...back on red.
I vent my rage on Twitter...and BAM..xbox support is on me like white on rice...their suggestion? pay them $100 to fix it.
EXCUSE ME??????????????
aside from a crapped out video card my xbox has never even hinted at a red light. Try the beta..get a red light...take out the hard drive, get a green light...put it back in, get a red light...and they want me to pay to fix it.
You know, I'd be more willing to pay it if it HAD been my fault, or if my console overheated, but that isn't the case. Not to mention, I don't have the money right now. I got kids and kids are expensive.
So, I guess i'll be cancelling my pre-orders for Fable 3 and Fallout.
I'm also thinking that its time I switch favorite children.

Game Spree for Me!
so I've been on a bit of a binge.
No, not a playing binge. A buying binge.
Last week I bought a second wireless mic for lips, Singstar Vol2, FF13, Yakuza 4, Dynasty warriors Strikforce and Dynasty Warriors 6 for PS2 (I already have it for Xbox360).
This weekend I bought Odin Sphere and No more Heroes 2. I also bought the game guides to Last Remnant and Red Dead Redemption.
Of course I bought the new DLC for Mass Effect 2- Overlord as well as a few songs for both Lips and Singstar.
I finally gave in and joined Steam and bought the Fallout Trilogy...Then last night I bought Arx Fatalis.
I thought my spree was done.
I was wrong.
This morning I awake to find out that 2 games I had been lazily eyeballing on XBLA are on sale, so of course...I bought Chime and P.B. Winterbottom.
I think I'm done and if I'm not, i'll be done when my husband realizes all the money I spent....that's what he gets for going on a business trip for 4 days...I have no one to stop me from letting my fingers do the buying.
Woman+ Credit Card +video game obsession = You better get a second job.

What's Fun Got To Do With It?
I'm still sifting through all the E3 info...Games, commentary, critiques, controls, etc.etc.etc.
But as I read about Kinect and Move and the complaints and shortcomings about them, not to mention the Wii comparisons, I'm left with one question...
What happened to fun?
Its a question I've been asking for a long time actually. I'm not going to run down my history of gaming (yet again) but I just want to throw out there the fact that I joined Gamespot in 2005 a couple of years after I started gaming regularly. Before 2005 I would see a game at Walmart and if it looked like it would appeal to me, I bought it. No reviews, no critiques, no trailers or screenshots. If it sucked, well I was out some cash. I was one of those "casual gamers", one of the ignorant unwashed masses who had no idea E3 even existed. But, you know what I DID know? Fun. I would play a game and continue playing it if it were fun, if it wasn't, then I stopped playing.
Now, here I am, years later, stuck in a routine that is starting to really bother me. I get up, I brush my teeth, get a cup of coffee and sit at my PC. Once there I start running down the list.
What list? The list of things I must check...

Tab after Tab after Tab open in my browser. After all, gotta keep up with whats going on in gaming. So, as I waste time reading about games my list of games to play keeps growing. Seems I read more about games than I play them and that is just not right. Now, that's my own fault isn't it? shut down the PC and turn on the console! Yes, its partly my fault but...once I fell into the "being in the know" trap, I can't seem to get out. Not to mention that I, like everyone else, am feeling the financial crunch which means I want to be sure before I drop that cash. How can I be sure? Reviews of course. I read tons of game reviews no tons of sites. Not just Pro reviews but gamer reviews as well. Now, I'm informed...to be cheesy... "Now I'm playing with Power"
Lately I've found myself spending more time skimming release date lists more than actual game info. Why? Because I've finally found my individuality again. My ability to think for myself. WTF does that mean? Philosophy 101 or Psychology 101? It means, I've put the reviews down. Reading reviews and previews can be informative, I'm not saying that they aren't helpful. However, more and more I see them concentrating on graphics, innovation, technology and the technical.
Here, I'm gonna throw out a prime example of this...
Dynasty Warriors
I got into Dynasty Warriors around the time 6 came out. I had never even heard of it before. After my husband and I had finished Champions of Norrath for about the 16th time we decided we needed a new co-op game to play. So we went to Gamestop in search of the elusive 2 player game. Only thing we found that even mildly appealed to us was Dynasty Warriors 6. We had no idea what it was, only that it had to do with Chinese History and fighting. I have no idea how many hours we spent playing the game day after day, night after night. My husband was fascinated by Zhuge Liang's attitude and character and decided he would champion Shu. I was a bit less decided. I Championed Wu as Zhou Yu and Wei as Sima Yi and on occasion I would tag team with him as Zhuge Liang's wife Yue Ying. The game inspired us to read the Three Kingdoms which gained me some brownie points with my Chinese Mother in law (hehe).
Long after my husband got tired of playing Dynasty Warriors I kept going. I bought 4, 5, 5XL and moved over to Japan as well with Samurai Warriors. When I bought a PSP one of my first purchases were Dynasty Warriors 1 and 2 for it. Since then I've played Samurai Warriors State of War, Warriors Orochi 1 and 2 and Dynasty warriors Strikeforce. I've loved each and every one of those games and even now they are my go-to games when I want some mindless fun.
I was shocked the first time I read a review for a DW game. They are all scored just slightly higher than mediocre. The main complaint is repetition. not enough change between each iteration. No Innovation in the formula. Yes, I will admit that DW games are all pretty much the same thing, but, why is that necessarily a bad thing. I don't play DW for a life altering experience. I play it because I find the idea of being a pretty boy with a pair of Tonfas kicking Yellow Turban ass in the hundreds, fun. Because I like saying the name Sima Yi. I really have no interest in seeing an overhaul of the DW series...But...with the release of DW Strikeforce there WAS a tangible change in the series. There were huge bosses, a town hub to upgrade in order to buy power ups and weapons, to store goods, to gain powers. The game emphasized multi-player like none of its predecessors. The characters were given back their Pre DW6 weapons and the ability to also use any other weapon they chose. So there you go..Innovation! Change! It still got a crappy score. While the changes were acknowledged, they weren't enough. So, what would it take to make these games acceptable to reviewers?
Shouldn't FUN be enough?
The Wii... oh...nothing gets slammed like the Wii does.
I'm not gonna lie...I rarely play the Wii.
My Wii is probably covered in dust right now.
The last game I bought for it, I've never even opened.
The games that I like on it, I rarely ever play.
The reason however, might surprise you....
Location.
It has nothing to do with its graphical shortcomings or its gimmicky controls or kid-centric games. Simply put, its in a room that I don't associate with gameplay, my studio.
Granted I spend hours in this room every day watching TV and surfing the net. I have all of my "old school" consoles in this room and they are all plugged into the TV. From my very first console, the Colecovision to my dust covered Wii. The thing that makes this room a great art studio is also the thing that makes it a nightmare to game in... Two walls are made of windows giving great Northern and Eastern light. They give excellent light for painting, they also give insanely annoying glare to the TV and make the room at least 10 degrees hotter than than the rest of the house. Intense sunlight and heat...not exactly conducive to gaming with something that requires lots of movement.
The Wii gave us innovation..a whole lotta innovation...and fun. Lets be honest, sure you look like an idiot playing some Wii games but its damn fun and you can also take comfort in the fact that who ever goes after you will look like a fool too..laughs for all! Right now, I'm planning on dropping $80 on We Cheer 1 and 2 and pom pom attachments so my uncoordinated daughter and I can act like morons together...at night of course...very late at night...with the AC turned down to 60 and every movable fan in the house on in this room.
Critics don't like the Wii..causes its gimmicky and graphically inferior to its console brethren. So, Nintendo tried to Innovate and it was considered gimmicky. What innovation ISN'T Gimmicky?
Let me ask you this... is it FUN?
While playing Soul Calibur Legends left me with a sore arm for a few days it was damn fun.
Wii Sports...is fun...I hate Bowling and Golfing but I can play Wii Sports for hours. House of the Dead? More please! Cheesy dialogue and rail shooting...hell yeah!
I'm an extrovert...or in layman's terms a HUGE Attention Whore. So, I'm down for some crazy antics. I like DDR even though I suck at it. I own tons of singing games and 2 eye toy cameras, one for each PS2. So looking foolish playing the Wii is not an issue for me, as long as I'm having fun.
So now Microsoft and Sony have jumped onto that Motion Control train that Nintendo got rolling. I'm not gonna argue about price points because...how many people bought a friggin iPad? How about a PS3 at $600? So lets forget price.
Unlike the Wii, Sony and Microsoft are neck and neck in graphical ability. Though you would think by now we would realize that good graphics do not a good time or game make. Guess gamers like a beautiful disaster.
So price is out, and graphics are out...what's left?
Fun.
We already know we'll look like idiots playing the damn things...question is...will you have fun playing it? If it is fun, then, does anything else matter?
Gaming....
To play games
I don't know, but where I'm from games, whether its jumping rope, playing hide and seek or using a controller to make a person on screen do something, they're supposed to be fun.
Looking at my game collection, a lot of the games I own were given really bad reviews and/or scores and had I based my decision to buy or play them on that, I would have missed out on a lot of fun and good times.
Maybe being from an older generation of gamers makes the difference. I grew up on Donkey Kong and Pac-Man, not exactly the most photo-realistic games, but even now, I still find them fun.
As much as I can marvel at the gorgeous rolling hills in Oblivion, I can spend hours playing Bejeweled.
Yeah yeah yeah...this post is all over the place....I probably went off on tangents more than I stayed on topic... I'm watching America's Next Top Model reruns while I write so my attention is divided.
But as I read about Kinect and Move and the complaints and shortcomings about them, not to mention the Wii comparisons, I'm left with one question...

Where have I been???
I know, I know, I've been awful quiet here (as opposed to everywhere else).
I've been doing something I don't do too often...actually playing games. Currently playing Fallout3, Dragon Age Origins, Mass Effect, Bayonetta and random PSP games.
Last night I played the Dante's Inferno Demo and I must say, I'm even less interested in this game now than I was when it was first announced. Now, I read The Divine Comedy many many years ago in high school and I really liked The Inferno, Purgatorio was ok and Paradiso about put me to sleep; Seriously, artists, writers, whatever, they always paint such a boring, dull image of heaven. But I digress.
The point I want to make is that I don't dislike the Game Dante's Inferno out of some deep rooted loyalty to the original work (though seriously, I'm surprised Dante Alighieri hasn't risen from the grave to massacre everyone at EA...perhaps with the help of Virgil.).
I'll take this step by step.
I fired up the game and squinted to read some blurry text, then I was treated to Dante the self mutilation freak sewing a cross to his chest (WTH) after a while I got to control Dante. He controls like Kratos after drinking a few casks of wine. The fighting was dull and repetative. I know I know, God of war was repetative, but you know what (and this is my personal opinion before ya'll get up in arms) I never got tired of fighting as Kratos, it was a sort of "murder ballet". Because his weapons were on chains fused to his arms most of the fighting had you twirling and spinning and swinging the Chaos Blades and it flowed, it was smooth and beautiful to look at, and incredibly deadly. Dante might have the killing power but most definitely not the moves.
Now I know that the "good" enemies come later in the game but the pathetic little wraith/zombie/WTH things I fought were weak and obnoxious. Also, I'm sorry but the whole absolve or not thing...NO, just NO. Harvesting or healing little sisters in Bioshock worked because it was a pause in the game with a specific scene given to the little sister struggling while you attempt to do one or the other. However In Dante's Inferno while all the other little pathetic minions waited for me to "purify" their little buddy, the big spinning wheel a la Indiana Jones Boulder was not as patient.
Then, I got to fight Death himself, the big ole Grim Reaper (would have been a lot more fun had he been voiced by the whoerver voices Grim in th Billy and Mandy). Being a big Castlevania fan I've fought death many times, hell in Portrait of ruin it was Dracula-Death. Usually for me at least those fights with Death can be well...life and death situations. (Death has wiped the floor with me on many occasions). So I was prepaired to get a mssive butt kicking by all of death's awesome powers. HA!
I slapped him arounda bit, took away his Scythe and then made him cry like a little girl and kiss my patent leather hooker boots (ok, ok, he just spit polished them).
After this snoozefest, at this point my daughter is looking at me like I should be shot for playing this rather than Fallout3 and asking me "Dude, why are you playing this, its crap, just like 2 worlds, its a demo, you don't HAVE to play it all! Just stop and delete it." (ahhh wisdom from the mouth of babes.) there's some sort of cutscene or something and beatrice dies and gets taken to hell and if I didn't miss the point here....The reason she is in hell and Dante is in deep crap is because....she gave it up cause he was off to war and then he got some on the side while he was at war and she's pissed...HUH? Yeah, I have no flippin' idea what's going on and I really don't care to.
I actually found myself enjoying the demo do Divinity 2 better. Also my daughter was really in a mood to give me shit last night (because I interrupted her Fallout3 game to play some demos). AS I played through Dvinity 2 I was polite and nice to everyone. When I play Fable 2 I'm nice and polite to everyone, when I play Mass Effect, I'm polite and nice to everyone...well you get my point. My daughter thinks this is silly and I should answer like myself. After a few conversations in Divinity she asks me, "Why are you always so nice, be mean!" I responded, but then people won't like me and it might screw up later quests. She rolled her eyes at me and said "You do realize this is a demo, right?" I felt just a lil dumb at that point.
My daughter Ghani however, she doesn't hold it in. She smart mouthed EVERYONE on the Normandy before they got to Eden Prime. Lately she had been playing a lot of make-up and dress up games on the DS and I thought that they were making her soft....yeah, I was wrong...Sometimes, she scares me...I'm so proud!
